I absolutely love working with children of all ages. I love to see the end results from working one on one w/ a child at the end of a session. I am very patient, and a firm believer that every child can learn! I've worked with children in many differnt areas of education and with children on many different levels. My focus was on children with disabilities and speech/language disorders. I've worked with children w/developmental delays and regular education children. I've also served as a tutor to children in my area w/learning disabilities. I have a BS in Speech Pathology w/a minor in Special education and I am currently working on my MS Ed in School Counseling. I will graduate from the Univ of Southern MS in May 2011. I've tutored children in English, Math, Science, and Reading.

In May of 2010, I successfully completed my fourth year of teaching. Each year has been different. The children of today learn in many different ways. There has been a change in learning styles over the course of time. Some children may learn through hands on activities and modeling, while others learn through lecture. Regardless of the learning style, I have learned that it is my job to make learning relevant and meaningful to students. The role of the teacher is to be a facilitator. The teacher facilitates the students in making personal decisions as well as participates in discussions that affect society. The teacher also helps build a foundation in subject matter to help develop a lifelong appreciation and understanding of the world through different disciplines.
