My comments on tutoring Microsoft Access : 7 years of self-taught experience in an administrative setting

I am currently a returning student at Arkansas State University, majoring in Computer Science, and minoring in Math and Graphic Design. I previously attended Arkansas Tech University, but withdrew due to financial reasons. In 2005, I became employed at Mid-South Community College, where my duties included helping students with computer questions and issues, as well as tutoring a few students in math. During my employment there, I taught a 5-week Intro to Computers course. The class consisted of a mix of traditional and non-traditional students.
Laid back. I like to discover with the student, teaching them how to teach themselves in a way. My learning style, and therefore my teaching style, has always been to break a lesson down to its simplest form, and tweaking it to fit various situations. This way, the lesson is easier to remember, like learning to ride a bike.

I have completed my Bachelors and Masters degree in Accounting. At this time, I work with disabled clients to help facilitate their inclusion into the community. We are required to complete 17 hours of education each year relating to the laws and regulations for the services of the disabled as well as specifically for individual diagnosis.
