I believe that students do not learn the same way. My teaching style incorporates all learning styles. When teaching a lesson I believe in using secondary reading sources, technology, video clip and other creative outlets. I believe that you must motivate the student to learn not thrust curriculum at them hoping it will sink in. I have five years of experience working with troubled youth and students with disabilities.

Because mathematics builds on what is already known, I find what skills are already mastered and which ones need more practice. I work with students to help them to assess themselves so that they can be more effective learners and problem-solvers. I help students to find strategies that will help them to retain the understanding that they come to through their classroom experiences, meeting with me, and through the discoveries they make on their own.
