Making Learning as fun as possible.

I’ve had many years of practice in the tutoring field dealing with the fact that my brother has a learning disability. He likes to have fun and thinks that leaning is boring, so I try to make learning as fun as possible. Then I have my student on student tutoring when the students tutor each other. I think its better that way because most students don't really pay attention to their teachers but they take it better when it comes from another student. Sometimes its better because something you understand they may not understand and when you explain it to them then may be they will understand it a little better. Basically what im saying is that some kids learn better from other kids.
I prefer to have a fun learning environment. I think you learn from hearing, seeing, and doing.

Teaching is just a love for sharing the quest for knowledge

Laid back. I like to discover with the student, teaching them how to teach themselves in a way. My learning style, and therefore my teaching style, has always been to break a lesson down to its simplest form, and tweaking it to fit various situations. This way, the lesson is easier to remember, like learning to ride a bike.
I am currently a returning student at Arkansas State University, majoring in Computer Science, and minoring in Math and Graphic Design. I previously attended Arkansas Tech University, but withdrew due to financial reasons. My teaching style has always been "learner-centered". I've always checked first to see what the students' needs were and what their learning style was before I made lesson plans. I have found that if I find something the student is interested in learning and present it in a way that he/she likes, then the student is more likely to engage in the lesson. I've always used the internet as a resource to find the most creative ways of presenting otherwise boring information. I have also found that a lot of support helps the student in the long-run instead of a "sink or swim" approach. Also, the support helps with self-confidence and the student appreciates that the teacher cares and therefore the student cares about learning too.
