I believe in success. There is no guarantee someone will learn on the first try. It's all about enjoying the learning experience and positive reinforcement. I also believe in humor and think that it can help a lot in peoples difficult situations.
I have helped tutor AVID high school students when I was a senior at Cherry Creek High School. I enjoy helping the kids learn and believe that being a tutor would pay it forward since I had so much help from tutors. I always helped my friends out because I was in higher level classes than them some of the times. I also worked with tutors and know how much of a difference they can make. My comments on tutoring Microsoft Excel : I have been using and teaching Microsoft Excel for twenty years.

I am extremely patient and clear. In my mind, there is no such thing as someone who cannot learn; it is my job to adjust my teaching style for multiple learning styles. An enthusiastic tutor with a PhD in chemistry!

I have found through my 6 years of teaching students, that flexibility is a key component. Explaining a difficult concept to a student should be customized to each individual students' needs. I encourage students to always ask questions even if they think they are stupid. Everyone has to ask those questions at some point in their career! Every single student has already learned a great deal without being taught; an educator’s challenge is to negotiate the various experiences and sociocultural influences to increase student awareness and use of those inherent, autonomous learning capabilities.
