I began tutoring in the third grade after I was accepted into Independent Study Classes. I was selected to tutor my fellow classmates in spelling and reading comprehension. My volunteer tutoring continued throughout my grade school years and into my higher education career. Once in college, I was hired as a mental health worker and tutor to austitic children. I have always excelled in reading comprehension, writing skills, and English communication classes. These skills have aided me in my pursuit of higher education with a focus on the Psychology and Sociology disciplines. I am very patient and humble young lady. No child is the same as another, so therefore; they are unique in their very own way. I believe that every child can succeed, but they just need to be instructed in the right direction. I can provide that direction because I will be their compass to the world of understanding, knowledge, and discovery. Learning should be fun and exciting, but not tedious and boring.My students will be outgoing and will be the future lawyers, doctors, firefighters, and the best teachers. As a graduate of a Health Science program at a competitive public university, Clemson University, I showed an understanding of many science disciplines. In the course of earning my BS in Health Sciences with a Concentration in Pre-Professional Health Studies, I became well versed in biology as well as chemistry. I have also demonstrated a passion for education as I wish to continue my own education in a masters program. I attended the School for Creative and Performing Arts in my home town. I have a skill for the Visual Arts and have had many years of Art History. I also read music and play the piano. I love working with children and students of all ages. I was a volunteer at Shriners Childrens Hospital for many years in the recreational therapy department.
