I believe that a child cannot fully come to comprehend subject matter without having a chance to be immersed in it first. This philosophy lends to the hands-on, question-oriented form of teaching that I so firmly stand by. I believe a good teacher will be able to convey the information in way best-suited to the student. A teacher can be extremely knowledgable, but the student must be enabled to learn through motivation and having the material accessible/understandable. I want to make sure the student is on the same page as me, and understands concepts/approaches to learning rather than just memorizing the material.
