I am currently a tutor and contract educator in the Richmond area. I have been an instructor at Rice University, and I have been a substitute teacher for the Toms River (NJ) school system. I have undergraduate degrees in history and journalism as well as graduate degrees in history. I have also worked in the public history field as a museum interpreter and educator. A Little Bit About Me...

For just over a decade I have been involved in some form of peer education or mentoring. As a senior in high school, I tutored students in mathematics and science. As an ACS Certified Chemist, I have been exposed to upper level mathematics, chemistry and physics, but am still required to use writings skills in preparing various reports and papers. When I teach reading, I convey my love of reading. When I teach math, I convey the logical beauty of math. When I teach other subjects, I stress the importance of the material and how it is relevant to everyday life. In Sunday school this week, we combined with another class, so there were people there who aren’t usually. Several of them thanked me and let me know how much they got out of it. My response is that I am a teacher. It’s who I am and what I do.
I was a corporate trainer for 3 years, followed by 12 years serving as a software instructor.
