My comments on tutoring Microsoft Office : I am very comfortable with the material.

I have been a tutor at UCA for about 2 years. I tutor mainly in math but I have experience with other subjects. I am a computer science major. I know how to use computer languages like Python, C++, HTML, and Assembly Language. I know how to use most of the Microsoft Office programs which include Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher, and Word. I have a little experience with Access but I am not a pro in it.

A Little Bit About Me...

Coming from a smaller school, I understand the importance of one on one communication and teaching. Throughout middle and high school I tutored many of my classmates and friends, and continued to do so with whoever needed help during my college career at Ozarka. After taking Writing courses at UCA, I began to see how that one on one quality becomes lost in a larger school, so I began offering help to whoever appeared to need it. I have been involved in a lot of activities and feel the best way to teach is to relate to the student. As a tutor, I have worked with many different types of students and I found a way to relate the information to something they were interested in. I show my students how to properly do a task or work through a problem and then I'll help them master the task or problem solution. It's important that my students can independently solve similar problems by using and adapting demonstrated methods. I am interested in encouraging student participation and adapting their presentation to include various learning styles. Students are expected to take some responsibility for learning what they need to know and for asking for help when they don't understand something.
