I enjoy teaching children in grades one through six in every subject. I have eight years of experience teaching children as a one on one tutor and teacher, and five years of teaching experience as an Instructor at the University of Georgia. Motivating students, and using computer software programs to engage students are essential in the learning environment. A Yale graduate, I have 12 years of experience as a social worker, two of which were while I was on active duty as a Captain in the Air Force. I believe in teaching the whole child, and I specialize in teaching children who are going through special challenges in their lives.

I have experience in one-on-one teaching, but feel comfortable with no more than five students at a time. I have 1.5 years of volunteer experience in teaching adult literacy. In this experience I have taught the alphabet, study/homework skills, basic consonant and vowel sounds, rules to the English language, and reading and writing. My sessions were one hour long, twice a week at the central library system.
