I also have an MBA (1975), and my working career of 40 years has included 25 years in developing Accounting Systems (multiple firms), Telephone Network Systems (Consultant and Senior Systems Engineer at AT&T for 15 years), and Accounting Operations (most recently Controller for a service firm with annual revenues of $15 Million. I began to work at Regions Bank in New Albany the Summer after my Senior year of high school. While still working for the bank, I attended Ole Miss for a year, then transfered to Northeast for the next year. I returned to Ole Miss to recieve my bachelors degree in Managerial Finance with an emphasis in Investments. I am now employed for a furniture company out of Tupelo, where I am an Accountant. Although I do not have much teaching experience, I am quite knowledgeable with Financials and Accounting Principals. I have turtored a few children in mathmatics, and I also helped other classmates.

All children are students; they can learn. The question is how best do they learn? I have used many differing styles from rote memorization through self-paced self-education. I encourage students to see the wonder and "mystery" (there really isn't any mystery) of Math, regardless of the level, in the real world. To that aid, I try to present real world problems at levels the student can understand. For lower level students, I investigate with them the development of the linear equations involved in setting up a relationship between two factors. A higher level student would solve multiple linear equations. A height vs. time linear relationship then can become quadratic, thus involving sports as an application.
