I believe all students have the ability to succeed. In my experience, the most important thing to remember is that all students learn differently, and sometimes what seems like an impossible task just needs to be presented differently for better understanding. Relating the material to situations and applications that are relevant and familiar to that particular student is a much more productive and beneficial way to have students retain information. I try very diligently to make each learning experience count and have students enjoy the learning process.

I have a BA and a MA in Sociology and attended Dartmouth as a part of my MA. Although my primary interests are education, criminology and issues related to adolescents, I am a well-rounded sociologist with relevant theoretical and methodological competences. In my current job as a content manager in a marketing company I am responsible for educating new writers and I take pride in a job well done. I have worked as a volleyball coach and therefore have experienxe working children of all ages and I understand the importance of motivation. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always enjoyed teaching. I try to take into consideration the individual's learning style when teaching. Many kids learn best when a "hands on" approach is incorporated into the lecture or instruction. I am laid back, patient, have a good sense of humor, and have never had difficulties connecting with youth of all ages. Sometimes, I have used creative ways to teach. I feel it is important to hold the interest of a student and ignite a childs' natural curiosity.
The majority of my experience lies within the field of Human Services/Counseling. However, I have substitute taught for about 18 months, elementary level and high school level. In addition, I have tutored foreign languages on a college level for two semesters.
