Then, I tell them that if their method isn't working, we will try it my way. In addition to teaching them the material, I try to pass off good studying habits as well. For example, rather than help a student write a paper by simply editing their paper, I try to show the student how helpful brainstorming is, and/or how to create an efficient, simple outline.
