A Little Bit About Me...

I became a published author of game reviews for a computer magazine at age 15. I worked at the University of Pennsylvania in Chemical Engineering under an Army Research Office grant, then as a software developer for the Mechical/Materials Engineering Dept. During college, I was in food service for 5 years, then a Records Clerk in county government. I was Advertising Director and Business Manager for two small, innovative Philadelphia newspapers. I have been a tutor/editor for the Royal Thai Scholars program (government scholarship students) and done private tutoring and editing for approximately 10 years. I also have experience in pharmaceutical and software-as-service marketing.

I began tutoring high school and college students in 1986. I have 6 children of my own who I have raised and taught science and mathematics. I worked 2 years as an adjunct professor at the University of Florida and was a volunteer instructor at Brigham Young University. I speak Japanese fluently and am semi fluent in German.
My style of teaching mathematics, science and Japanese is PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. It is only through solving problems (for mathematics and science) and practice (for Japanese) that this knowledge becomes ingrained in a student so that they are confident to move forward.
