My comments on tutoring Government : I have taught the Constitution in American History, but not Comparative Government.

I try to engage my student, to tease the learning out of him or her. I have learned to explain, to give the information then to step back, allowing my student to think through to the conclusion. This involves silence sometimes, and the student talking more while I talk less, something not so easy for a teacher of Italian descent. Experiences has shown, however, that it often works.

I obtained all of my degress while I was working full-time jobs. My teaching experience at Damon College and SUNY Buffalo was as a part time "teaching assistant". I was never able to give up full time work in order to teach full-time, as part-time salries fell short of what I needed to support my family.
