My analytical and grammatical skills have been developed by the many essays, research papers, and presentations I have completed. Through tutoring, I want to extend that feeling to as many students as possible. I know that many people find mathematics to be extremely difficult, but I also know that with the right teacher we can learn anything. I will bring each student back to the basics until he or she understands them fully, then we can build a foundation of information and the more advanced material will not be so difficult. I am extremely patient and determined and will work with every student until we have reached our goal and overcome a difficult math problem, concept, or entire subject.

A Little Bit About Me...

Throughout all of my academic career, I have never been paid for helping other students-my friends-with their homework. Yet, I have still done it when they asked. In high school, I usually helped the struggling athletes, even though I too was an athlete; this continued in college. In sophomore year of college, I was the peer teacher in Stephens Success class, where I helped students with various issues. In speaking of Academics/Subjects I have personally not gotten below a A- since I was in second grade and can tutor in a variety of subjects including English, Math, Biology, and Chemistry. In the summer of 2008, I also taught autistic children.
I understand that all children can learn, but they also learn at different paces, in different ways, and at different times of the day. As I learn through audio, visual, and tactile, I can teach to those strengths as well. I am patien ... read more

I feel that all children have the capacity to learn but may not always thrive in a typical classroom setting. They may feel lost or intimidated in a large class and are not able to speak up and express their questions or concerns. Individualized attention through tutoring can give the child confidence in the classroom, but also in everyday life. I am a very patient and caring person who is genuinely interested in the progress and success of children. I believe all children can thrive with the proper instuctions, surroundings, and attention. I will be able to provide your child with what they need to learn material and gain confidence.
