A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked hard to obtain my duel certification in elementary/special education. I began teaching just months after graduation and have learned a lot of knowledge and commpassion for educations and the learning process. I have taught both general and special education students and feel that I would be a great tutor to any student in need of reaching their potential.
My passion for teaching children is immense. I feel that each child has a unique way of learning and is able to reach their full potential through different avenues of learning. I am energetic, encouraging, and patient - all qualities that will further enhance any student's learning career.

A Little Bit About Me...

As I stated above, I am really comfortable working one-on-one with students. I feel that we can get to know each other, I can learn the way the student best learns, and where his problems lie. I feel the student can develop trust and confidence both in me and himself in this type of situation which may help to carry over into a regular classroom. It is important to learn how the student best comprehends, and proceed from there.
I graduated from Mansfield University with a BS degree in Elementary Education with honors. I taught a temporary position in third grade (all subject areas), then was asked by the school superintendent to substitute teach in Junior and Senior High School, and Special Education classes, which I did for four more years before I had to move out-of-state for my ex-husband's job. I can identify and help students with learning disabilities because I myself have a learning disability. Although I myself was considered to be a slow learner and I had (and still have) dyslexia, I never the less taught myself how to study and how to get through high school, college, and graduate school. I can help the students on their own level because I have been there and I know how frustrating it can be to have to study without having the right tools. I not only tutor students but I also give them the right tools to be able to study and learn for themselves.
