I am an English major from Stony Brook University and a law school graduate from St. John's University School of Law. I was a practicing attorney for many years in the area of casualty defense litigation. I specialized in the preparation of legal briefs, which involved extensive legal research and writing. While living in New York, I was a member of the New York Bar having passed the bar examination immediately after completing law school. I am prepared to tutor English and Law related courses. I have earned two bachelor degrees, BS in Business Administration with a concentration in International Business and BA in Spanish. I have 10 years of professional experience involving customer service, Spanish translation, tutoring, and training. As an ex-patriate, I was afforded the opportunity to learn Spanish fluently and have witnessed first hand its importance in business and life today. I also have elementary age children that I assist in the everyday learning processes. My favorite part about teaching is the moment that something "clicks" within a child's mind. I am a problem solver naturally so I try to lead children down a path of discovery instead of just teaching the answer. I believe this helps children gain an understanding of how things work or why they are a certain way so that they are able to apply these same processes to other problems.

Having a degree in Philosophy & Religion has many advantages in teaching. I have found to better understand a subject it is best to go and study many different resources for that subject, a macro-view. However the complicated subject is, a person who knows that subject will be able to present it in a simple concise manner. With this approach I am able to study and present a variety of subjects in a concise but exciting manner. The full grasps of studying P&R encompasses many sub fields of study : i.e. history, psychology, sociology, pretty much all the liberal arts. My teaching style would best be described as conversational at best, drawing out of the student, their knowledge or lack of knowledge. I have taught my two honors student sons that I add to their body of knowledge and they are to coalesce the information to their understanding.

I am very patient. Before every lesson I review past lessons to ensure we are not building a castle on sand. I pass on to the student the ability to convey his acquired knowledge under test conditions. I try to make a difference in each student’s life. I hope to leave the student satisfied and happy at the end of each lesson and eager for the next lesson. A successful lesson takes away the student’s fear of his or her classroom.
