My comments on tutoring Spanish : Took 6 years of Spanish from grades 7-12

My teaching 'style' is a bit unique, in my opinion. By that, I mean that every child/student 'learns' differently, so I must 'adapt' my style 'on the fly' after determining what is the most effective approach/style/method for that individual student. In addition, the subject that I am teaching also affects my style and some 'tools' that I learned as a youngster and a teacher are also implemented frequently.
I was trained to be a teacher at CSU-Fresno, where I graduated in May, 1999. I substituted for 3 consecutive years in Fresno, Clovis, and Madera Unified School districts at grade levels 3-12. I received my Master's Degree in Sports Administration from the American Public University system in May, 2011, and graduated with Honors and a 4.0 GPA. I am currently trying to obtain my credential and hope to be an Athletic Director one day.

Spanish is one of my top subjects! I am Hispanic so I am very fluent in this language. I also am studying Spanish to obtain a minor degree as well as my concentration.

I have worked with many groups of children from grades k-12. My main focus is working with elementary students. Most of my experience is working with grades k-6. My number one field is math. I'm more concerned in helping students with math because this is usually the field were most students are having trouble. Spanish is one of my top subjects!

I have been a tutor for over four years now. I work with all ages, at Sullivan Learning Company I work with K-8th, at Clovis High School I worked with high school students and I have done Spanish tutoring on my own with adults. I also teach Sunday school so I am accustomed of working with both individuals and big groups.

My comments on tutoring Spanish : Spanish was my first language, which then later for High School it was necessary to take two years. I knew the principal and the basics which eased to my ability.

I've know sign Language since the 4th grade, but as in right now I am a senior in High School taking college classes in American Sign Language, which it will lead to my career to becoming an Interpreter.
