While I was going to college, I was employed by the University of Nebraska as a tutor for students in calculus and calculus based physics. I learned to teach students who learn by different methods and make the subjects relatable and understandable. I have a high degree of education as well as experience using the math and physics I learned in my job as a mechanical engineer.
I use strategic questions to help guide students to the right answer without giving the answer directly to them. This allows the student to develop their own sense of logic when approaching problems so that when test time comes, they will be able to ask themselves questions similar to what I ask during tutoring sessions and help figure out the answer step by step. I have been working with the UNL's OASIS and WHT program as a tutor for Science, Math, Calculus classes. I have tutored up to 400 level courses. I have also worked as a tutor in Mumbai India for underprivileged students where i tutored calculus, physics, biology and chemistry classes. I have worked as a tutor with UNL for about a year now and in Mumbai India i have worked as a tutor for a year too.

It seems to me that students retain information most successfully when it has been presented so as to be personally relevant, so I attempt to tailor examples to the student's background.
Most of my experience has been as an engineer. I have worked on projects in Europe, Asia, and all over North America. I got involved tutoring high school students while my sons were in high school. Recently, I completed an MA in Education, and taught science and math for about a year and a half in a couple of Louisiana High Schools.
