My comments on tutoring Algebra : Have taught Algebra 1 at two community colleges and at ITT-Tech. Total teaching experience in the subject is 32 years

I possess over 30 years of academic/industry training the areas of mathematics, networking, programming and engineering. Having taught for 2 universities, 2 community colleges and several private institutions I bring to the class both an academic/private industry point of view. Students are taught not only the specific details of the course but are also shown where the subject matter is used in industry along jobs which might employ this knowledge. Have never tutored anyone before aside from helping my younger sister with her homework. I completed high school with a 3.5 GPA and am currently preparing to start my 2nd year of community college. Math has always been my best subject. In 11th grade I was enrolled in Algebra II honors, I then took a pre-college algebra course in 12th grade, took a similar course my first semester of college, and then took college algebra. I learned to read when I was 3 or 4 which was earlier than most people I was around. I finished in 16th place in my 5th grade spelling bee finals. Would have gone farther but I mistook course for coarse.
I like to be fun. I don't want to be the teacher/tutor that nobody likes. I want kids to be excited to see me every day. I want to be the guy that 20 years from now, they look back on their lives and remember me and what I was able to do for them.

I want to help students be the best they can be.

I have tutored a few students, but I would love to tutor more and gain new experiences. My students all had a "C" or below in math and I helped raise them to a "B" or an "A". I have taken and passed Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Analysis of Functions, and Trigonometry. All of those were of the Honors level.
