A Little Bit About Me...

I feel the need for tutoring is the need to simply obtain information in a form that is different from the one presented in the classroom. As a tutor, I work to break things down into their constituent pieces and explain each of these pieces in turn. This is a more time-intensive method of instruction, of course, as the breaking down of information is totally dependent on the way it must be done for it to make sense to the student. Tutoring allows this method to be used, as one-on-one, this method is just as quick as the standard schoolroom methods.

Teaching Science and Math requires that the student understand each step in order to understand a concept. Each student is unique requiring more help in one area than another. When teaching I have always insured that the student is competent with the basic concepts and then we move on to more complicated concepts. Chemistry, Physics and Math are visual and I work from text and paper and pencil to explain concepts. In addition there are many ways to solve math and science problems. I work with the student to find which type solution works best for them.
