I have been fascinated with tutoring for the past three years ago. I began tutoring one of the professors at the University of IL at Chicago in a foreign language. Since then, I have been tutoring various age groups from eight years old to fifty four years old. I received my Bachelor degree in Biology from University of IL at Chicago. While studying Biology, I was able to take various courses in science such as Math, Physics, General and Organic Chemistry, Physiology and biology.
I believe a great teacher needs to have proper skills and talents for teaching. I learned a lot while growing up from a great teacher; my mother. My mother was a teacher for thirty years teaching elementary grades. I learned a great teacher needs to be respectful, patient and to be able to illustrate the lesson in an easy, simple way. I recently graduated from North Park University, summa cum laude. I have earned a BGS in Human Development which has enabled me to understand the cultural, social and psychological dynamics of human development. While at NPU, I served as a private humanities tutor and strived to help students achieve their academic goals. For the past year and half, I have volunteered my time at Gilda’s Club Chicago and have worked closely with men, women, and children who are diagnosed with cancer. I primarily served as a facilitator in the children’s school and coordinated play activities for children and adolescents. I am currently enrolled in a M.ED program for Special Education at UIC to further my education and work with children and adults in the community.
