I feel each child is unique, so their learning style is unique. I especially enjoy using the explorative method of teaching where the child is encourage to explore, examine, and discover with my assistance. I believe that each child has a gift and it is my job to discover where their strengths lie and to foster that strength and know where their weaknesses are and kindle their desire to make those stronger. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Eastern Kentucky University in 2010 with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice. I am currently in my third semester at EKU pursuing my Masters in Public Administration. Through my coursework in my undergraduate and graduate programs I have gained skills in conducting research, writing all forms of papers, public speaking, and statistical analysis. Over the last five years I have worked with children and young adults of various ages as a camp counselor, track coach, mentor and tutor. As a person who is passionate about children, I have worked alongside them for four years. I was a camp counselor for three years running and I also took part in extra tutoring at the school where I did my student teaching. I worked alongside a child that needed some extra help in reading and math. His test scores were raised significantly in that time that I was working with him.
