My style tends to range based on who I am trying to teach, and I suppose is most accurately labeled as adaptive. I understand that different people learn things in different ways, and so I try to accommodate that with my teaching. For instance if I found that a student learns better visually then I would attempt to use visual cues and examples in lesson plans to make the material as easy to understand as possible. I also believe in keeping a very loose and pleasant atmosphere, and making sure that everyone feels comfortable and safe, which I believe also assists in the learning process.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri in 1993. Since graduation, I have acquired 15 years of experience through classoom teaching, tutoring and educational coaching. Most of my classroom experience was spent teaching 5th grade. I tutored elementary students for 12 years, and was recently trained as a Reading Coach. My certifications are in the areas of Elementary Education 1-8, Reading 4-8, and Social Studies 4-8.
