A Little Bit About Me...

Nothing is better than seeing a huge smile on a child's face once they cath on to something. I love helping children learn by doing a lot of visual activities and practicing! I was always the only person who could help my younger sister study for tests because she said my teaching techinique is very helpful and makes her remember things. It always made me feel good knowing i was the only one who could help her study!
When I first attended Wilmington College, I was in early childhood education. I completed a whole semester of student teaching and volunteered for tutoring after school. I finally had decided that teaching was not for me because I wanted more of an office setting job so i decided to major in business management. I have decided that I want to pursue in subsitute teaching so that I am able to help children and spend more time with my newborn.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a recent college graduate, I feel that I have received the formal training necessary to become a teacher. I have obtained a BS in Early Childhood Education. Over the past two years I have also spent time tutoring elementary school children in the subject of reading, and also spent about 3 months working one on one with various students in a nearby school district.
I believe that all children should receive the extra help that they need. Often time in the classroom, a teacher does not have the time to give the support of the needs of each student in the classroom. Teachers and tutors should try their best to make sure they focus on individual needs of the students so that they can help them succeed.

I have gained a tremendous amount of experience working with this student in and out of the classroom, and it has allowed me to develop my teaching skills in all areas of curricula. I tutor my student in each and every one of her subjects. I also informally tutor some of my peers at Ohio Wesleyan University, particularly in Science classes, in which I am most experienced.
I am a very interactive teacher. I find it helpful for the students I work with if I am able to relate a lesson to something else with which they are familiar.
