I am currently a mid-career scientist who is looking to transition into the teaching profession. I have tutored high school and college students for several years in chemistry, algebra, physics, and geometry. I have a BS in Chemistry and have taken additional coursework in chemistry and education. I have extensive experience as a chemist working in the laboratory, and have several published research articles in the field.
My goal in teaching is to help students understand how the scientific process affects them on a personal level. I try to connect science and mathematics to the world around them by helping them to understand science in the context of other disciplines, including art and politics. Furthermore, I draw on my experience in environmental and pharmaceutical laboratories to increase interest in the coursework.

Received high honors at BS level for Teaching at Greater Johnstown High School Grades 9-12 of Geometry, Algebra, and General Math. Continued MS degree instantly after graduation and went into Electrical Engineering Computer Programming for 6 years and Rocket Applications for 4 years.
Applying to everyday examples as much as possible to help student(s) comprehend equations and math concepts better. Used real-life and hands-on materials in Geometry. Allowed cross-curriculum teaching to have students use English to explain Mathematics.
