A Little Bit About Me...

I come into contact with a variety of different students with different areas of interest as a public speaking teacher. My teaching philosophy is to recognize that every student needs, wants, and gets something different from their studies, and it is my job to help them do just that. Rather than conduct a “one size fits all” class, I work with my students individually to guide them in their research and help them get the most out of their speeches. I believe it is important for them to choose topics that interest them as a way to learn about an area they already like and become excited about delivering speeches, something that most students fear.

A Little Bit About Me...

From both my tutoring and teaching experience, I have concluded that each individual learns differently; therefore, I believe it is essential for teachers to discover each student’s learning style and teach them accordingly. I also strongly believe that learning should be a rewarding, pleasant, and even fun experience. Furthermore, I know that each and every student is able to learn; however, often times it is necessary to instill a desire to learn in them. This can be done by illustrating a passion for learning. I have worked both as a substitute teacher and as a certified teacher for around 15 years. I have taught a variety of different courses. I was certified to teach all sciences grades 7-12. However my certification has expired. I have taught both in the private and public sectors of education. I graduated a member of Kappa Delta Pi, as an international honor society. I graduated with a 3.9 G.P.A. I have also worked as a tutor many times within my career. I also worked with troubled teens as a therapeutic foster parent. I have taught all sciences, math, English, literature, reading, history, geography, geology, and religion.
