I love piano and schoolwork

I teach on a basic level. I like to know what the student wants to get out of a session and whether the topic is interesting. I love to help a student learn to love school and music through tutoring sessions.
I have been a math, science, history, and music tutor since high school. I conduct for a church choir and have taken piano lessons for many years. I a currently taking advanced lessons with my college professor. Being a part of many organizations in high school has made college a wonderful experience thus far. I was taught how to study and learn to my benefit, and I would love to help a child learn how to appreciate school and/or music.

A Little Bit About Me...

I work best with pre-school, kindergarten, and first graders and have had lots of experience with Spanish speaking children. I consider myself a hands-on teacher. I believe that all children can excel in the right learning environment when given opportunity to experience and experiment with learning tools. I love using music to teach reading and math. Most children just need someone to be kind, patient and understanding. I am a kinesthetic learner myself, so I have found that when a child can use their five senses and involve their whole being, learning comes much more easily and quickly.

As a person who is passionate about children, I have worked alongside them for four years. I was a camp counselor for three years running and I also took part in extra tutoring at the school where I did my student teaching. I worked alongside a child that needed some extra help in reading and math. His test scores were raised significantly in that time that I was working with him. I am very passionate about teaching children and I love to watch them succeed.
