Hello! I am an ambitious 15-year-old honors sophomore in high school! Through my freshman year, I stood with a 3.85 cumulative GPA, including three honors classes (English, Global Studies, and Biology). This current on-going year I continue my impressive GPA with MSOE level and related classes (Human Body Systems), and two honors classes (Chemistry and English). A Little Bit About Me...

I was homeschooled for the majority of my education which enabled me to assit my younger brothers and sisters in their studies. I taught a few Science classes including botony and a study of birds and have tutored in highschool math as well. I played volleyball, took 3 years of piano, and was a member of Chior as well. I worked as a teachers aide in a preschool for 2 years. I worked with children from the age of 6 weeks to 5 years. I plan on going to college for either business or diognostic sonography.
I love working with kids of all ages. All children are unique and they all learn in different ways. I believe its the teachers responsibllity to understand how their students learn best and then help communicate the curriculum to them in a way that they will best uderstand and retain that knowledge.

First I like to try to ask them where they are having trouble or watch them do some problems to see where they are having troubles. Where I find the problem I would show them the correct ways to approach a problem and prove it to them or use other methods to help them understand how the concepts work. I'm a good listener and very patient with students. Free and unconstrained autobiographical writing is one of the best ways to coax a student insecure about his or her writing skills into putting into words intense experiences from their own life. I tell my students to just tell me in their own words what they are trying to say. When they speak aloud, the words flow, and then I say, "There is your opening sentence right there. Quick! Write it down." At other times, I ask them to pretend that they are really someone else, an actor in a television show, for example, and I have them imagine that the character, not they themselves, are speaking. This releases the student to let go of inhibitions and let the film roll "for the character" and then they stop focusing on themselves.
