I have worked with the following populations throughout the many years of professional experience: mental health patients - (children & adults), special needs, developmentally disabled, people with learning disabilities, those with ADD/ADHD, Children, Adolescents, and Adults of varying ages and skill sets. I know some sign language so I am able to communicate with others who have little to no hearing. I have worked within the schools and have experience aiding students. I am very flexible and willing to adjust for the needs of the student and meet them where they are in the learning process.

I have my A.A. degree in Theatre and Communications and will be receiving my Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing with a minor in Film Studies in December of 2012. I have experience with children ranging from grades K-12th. I have been a Teacher's Aide since 2004 and a Summer Counselor since 2006. I am also bilingual and although it is not on my list for tutor availability, I do have experience in the language barriers concerning English and the Spanish language. I am Cuban American and wouldn't trade that for the world. It allows me to enjoy the cultures around me as well as given me a thirst to explore new ones. My comments on tutoring Creative Arts : Advanced in Writing and musical aspects

My experience has been primarily with children within my school or those around my neighborhood. I find that children are more capable of learning in a stable environment that they are familiar with. Children respond well with well timed incentives and subtle reprimands of lost focus. Students are more likely to acknowledge a lack of concentration skills once their intelligence is put into question. Under my tutoring students are able to concentrate more and see an improvement in their grades. Ill behaved children are more likely to round out their behavior once an appropriate hobby is acquired for them and holds their interests. All materials should be produced based on the individual child's rights.
