In my ten years of experience as a teacher I have accomplished many things of which I am proud. My second year of teaching I was asked to implement a reading intervention program district-wide. After two years of that, I started a school within a school for at-risk students. The last two years of my career I helped to pilot and then implement single gender classrooms school-wide. Four years ago I decided to pursue my National Board certification. I have my MAT as well. In addition to these things, I also sponsored Beta Club and Student Council for three years. I believe in teaching through doing. When I taught German I conducted my class almost completely in German (the beginner level), and while this would seem difficult for the students to learn my students scored excellently on their tests. With enough support that they are capable of doing it and flexibility on the side of the teacher, a student can achieve whatever their goals may be, without having the bored of memorization.

I have some experience with Early Childhood Education. I have started but not completed a degree in Education. I have volunteered several times at a day care center throughout my education to complete required labs.
