Physical science and math are often the most difficult subjects for students, but I believe anyone can understand the "basic idea." The difficulty comes from attempting to connect their intuitive understanding with the symbols on the paper. Many students think of these subjects as the memorization of formulas. But if they grasp the "basic idea," they can adapt and apply it to any problems they face. Instead of developing a toolbox of formulas, my goal as a teacher is to help the student develop a toolbox of problem-solving strategies. I enjoy helping others learn and succeed in the classroom. I typically tutor students step by step during the problem solving process. I teach students effectively by providing analogies to problems or concepts that they are having a difficult time grasping.
I graduated summa cum laude with a BSBA finance degree from the University of Central Missouri. I am currently an MBA student studying finance as my concentration discipline. As a part of my degree programs I have taken nine undergraduate credit hours in accounting and three graduate hours in accounting. I have two different teaching styles depending on whether I am in a preschool setting or middle school type setting.
