My comments on tutoring Elementary Study Skills : I am in the process of becoming an elementary school teacher, therefore I am familiar with the lesson plans within K-5th grade.

I would say my teaching style is really focused on the student and what they need. In school I was an average student never getting lower than a C or higher than in an A. So I really want to focus on listening to the student, especially because they probably are not heard at school. I want to make each subject interesting to the student, whether that means going out and playing basketball or chess or candy or anything the student absolutely loves. I want to attach each subject to a good memory, I don't want to pressure them or push them to just memorize facts that I know they will probably forget after they are tested. From my own personal experience I want any student I tutor to turn around and actually enjoy learning about a subject they are having trouble with.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a veteran teacher of 34 years. I have elementary ed experience in grades 2-6, and have taught middle school math grade 6 and grade 7 (pre-algebra). I have taught elementary students for 22 years, and middle level for 12. I am California certified with a multiple subjects credential and an authorization in math to teach through Algebra !.
