I believe every child can succeed in school. Every child has the ability to reach his/her highest potential, even those who are struggling. Sometimes it is just a matter of finding the technique that works best for that child. Not every child learns exactly the same way but every child can learn!

As a recent graduate of West Virginia State University, I am very focused on helping children learn to be successful students and productive citizens. I am an Elementary Education major and I have been working with children since I was 15 years old. I have been a swimming, gymnastics, cheerleading and dance coach for many years. I graduated from West Virginia University with a bachelor of science in biology and a minor in communications. Throughout school, I helped many students with a variety of courses I had already taken. I have always worked very well with others and my communication minor only enhances this aspect. I am currently pursuing my masters in health care administration and human resource management. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with all age groups. When working with older students I typically use a teaching style that involves asking the student a series of questions such that the student ends up answering their own question through deductive reasoning. I have found that a student utilizing this pedagogical method not only tends to more effectively remember the answers to the questions but understands the thought process that allowed them to arrive at those answers. I have also found that students are better able to pay attention for longer amounts of time with this active learning style as opposed to simply listening to a lecturer.
