REAL LEARNING IS FUN, RISKY, DANGEROUS...BUT NEVER BORING :)

My experience spans both the ivory tower and the world of business and industry. I have observed that "TEACHING" is often associated with the ideas of "PRESENTATION" and "ACADEMIC ENTERTAINMENT". Honestly, for many students it is comforting, soothing, and safe to sit in a chair and listen to an "ADULT" sing to them in the language of Calculus, Organic Chemistry, Java, etc. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT APPROACH. Nevertheless, I too have sung to many students in the language of General Chemistry at the Junior College Level. I have been in the Information Technology industry for over thirty years working for such companies as American Airlines, Sheraton Hotels, Williams, Harsco, Dollar-Thrifty and Microsoft. I have a BS in Computer Science and have worked in both hardware support and software development. I currently work as an independent consultant providing my customers with the technological skills necessary for the successful completion of their software development projects.
