I am a recent graduate of the University of North Texas with a degree in Music Education. While at North Texas, I taught middle and high school-aged students the art of music. During the summer I graduated, I tutored elementary and middle school-aged children reading and math. These experiences have helped me to gain different teaching skills and how to teach students with different learning capabilities. I like to teach on an individual basis because I can focus on a single student who has a unique way of learning. I can cater to this student and help him/her in exactly the way he/she needs. I have wanted to be a teacher all my life. I love working with children and teaching. I believe that children are the future and should be given the opportunity to do well and succeed in school. I like to do my best to teach students how to do something and then let them discover and practice how to do it for themselves on their own. I feel that providing good instruction and then being there to assist when needed is the best way for students to learn. I also understand that all students learn differently, so I would include the student in determining what strategies work best for him or her.
