I have a Bachelors in English from Dominican University. I began A Plus Master Tutoring Center over 4 years ago and was teaching in my home. Now we have expanded to a center in Oak Park and we tutor all ages, from Pre-K to adults. Our subjects range from phonics to algebra. Our teaching styles vary from a 3:1 ratio, which would include up to three students and one tutor, or a 1:1 ratio which would be a private session with a student and a tutor. Session prices range from $25-$27 depending on the type of session. We pride ourselves in being an affordable tutoring center compared with the prices of Huntington and Sylvan learning centers. Special Education Teacher/Reading Specialist

I have been a special education teacher for 12 years. I recently received my Master of Arts in reading instruction degree. I have had a lot of success teaching students how to read. An example of this is: I started working, for 600 hrs (pull-out and push-in) a week, with a 2nd grade student at the end of January 2007. When I began working with him, he could only read 13 words. By the end of May, he knew 49 words
My teaching style is to find out what works best for the student and to use it that way.
