Vocals is one of my top subjects!

I am very detail oriented and always look for improvement with my students; however, I believe music should be fun and engaging. My methods vary depending on each student's need, but I always strive to be supportive and encouraging while maintaining a high standard.
I am a professional opera/choral singer and I perform regularly with companies including Seattle Opera, Bellevue City Opera, Northwest Opera in Schools, Etc, and Tacoma Opera. I have also attended musical festival including Utah Festival Opera, Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, and Vancouver International Art Song Institute. I have been teaching for ten years, and work with a variety of ages, skill levels, and musical interests.

A Little Bit About Me...

Everyone has the ability to learn but not everyone has the same ability. Most people are visual or tactile learners whereas most teachers, in my experience, use verbal/aural instruction methods. I believe in tailoring my teaching to the needs of the student and not to what I am most relaxed with. I have personally taught several tactile students who had to have something in their hands or they could not grasp the concepts. Other times I've instructed students in strong visual methods incorporating drawings, artwork and short videos.
During my studies at USU I worked at Adams Elementary both as a Teachers Aid as well as a Mentor during the After School Program. I worked one-on-one as well as in groups of students grade k-5.
