Learning can be fun!!

When tutoring, I strive to make lessons engaging, effective and enjoyable. Specifically, I tailor lessons according to an individual student's needs and involve students in a dialogue by asking questions that provoke thought, conversation, and perhaps humor. Because facts and figures are easily looked up in the information age, I place particular emphasis on thinking and on "learning how to learn". Reading is one of my top subjects! I LOVE to read and would love to teach you all I know. I am not a speed reader, a teacher or have any training other than my personal schooling. I think I did an excellent job teaching my children to read and reading comprehension. They had a very high Vocabulary when they started school from all the reading we did.

Typing: 4 yrs. High School typing classes and years of typing on the home computer. I did take a couple R.O.P. classes on computer programs but have forgotten most of what I was taught since I didn't use it. I learn very quickly and can figure things out pretty well if I don't know how it works. I type 58 words per minute without looking at the keyboard. Drama: Involved with theater for approx. 5 to 6 yrs. On stage and back stage experience. No on camera experience. Also directed a show.
