I have been teaching for 4 years at a low income elementary school. I have experience with students of various backgrounds, socio-economic statuses, and disabilities. My experience is mostly in grades 1-3, but I am licensed to teach Kindergarten through 6th grade in all subject areas. I am also licensed to teach English as Second Language in grades K-12.

I like to use hands on and/or creative teaching methods when possible. I believe that practice and persistence makes perfect. I would say that my teaching style is "outside of the box". I generally teach through visual aids and through very thorough explanations. If the student doesn't understand the first time I explain something, I will explain it in a different way and will keep explaining it in different ways until he/she fully understands what's being taught. I try my hardest to teach by explaining concepts logically and showing WHY and HOW, rather than simply saying something is what it is "just because." I have always been an honors student and am currently taking the highest levels of math (AP Calculus) and spanish (Spanish 5) at my high school.
