I started teaching chemistry in 1964. During my child-raising years, I did a lot of substitute teaching in various subjects, and worked at part-time and temporary classroom teaching and tutoring. My longest position was at University of Massachusetts, Lowell campus, (1993 through 2004, before moving to Florida), teaching 3 different levels of Freshman Chemistry. I have tutored chemistry, math, and biology in Florida since 2007, as an employee of Advanced Learning Center, St. Petersburg, until 2011, and independently to the present time. A major portion has been at Shorecrest Prep, St Petersburg, 2007 to now. I have met students at school, home, libraries and other public places. College educated years of experience with "At Risk" students

Besides my degree in BioChemistry I have also completed minors in cellular/molecular biology, and art. While studying at Albion college I worked on two separate college funded research teams as well as worked as a TA with large groups of students as well as small groups. After graduation I worked at a public high school in Flint, Michigan as an at risk interventionalist. This involved working specifically in science classrooms with at risk students as well as working in my own classroom either one on one or in small groups.

In the sciences I have used a lecture format with power point presentations along with as many demonstrations as I could use or perform. Lab exercises work very effectively also in getting many concepts across to the visual learner. When working one on one, I find the best way the student learns and format my lessons to fit them.

After graduating cum laude from Yale University with a PhD in Eating, I interned for two years at Dunkin Donuts, fine tuning my skills in eating pastries. I've also spent two summers eating in various food malls, specializing in China One, Chick Fil-A, and Baskin Robins. I have tutored students Overeating, Pizza, and Alka Seltzer.
I believe all children can enjoy eating broccoli. I find this works best if the broccoli is smothered with cheese and accompanied on the plate with something fried. I have found that overeating is a very effective way to teach the student dangerous gastric consequences. I demonstrate this by ordering pizza, allowing them to eat as much as they want, and then immediately afterwards giving them free reign to various quarts of ice cream. I know I can make a difference in every students' stomach.
