A Little Bit About Me...

After receiving my bachelor's degree, I went to school part time to work on my Master's degree while subbing in area schools. I accepted a position as a teaching assistant, and two long term positions. I also tutored a junior high school student in all subjects.
I'm very eager to teach. I love to be able to help children succeed and learn new things. I do whatever it takes to make this happen, and adjust my style as needed for each student. I like to make a difference, especially through education.

I find that each person has a different learing style and try to find out what works for them. I also teach them that organization of thoughts and ideas are helpful in how they approach learning. I relate the subject matter to what is needed to learn and to something that they can relate to. I believein repetition and that all people can learn if someone takes the time to find out their individual learning style. A Little Bit About Me...

As a young woman aspiring to become a veterinarian, I attained both a BS in Biology and an AAS in Veterinary Technology. I enjoyed tutoring fellow students during my college career, as it allowed me to reinforce the material in my own mind and also to earn a little extra income. After compressing 2 years’ of material into one year to obtain my AAS degree, I decided to enter the workforce instead of continuing my education further. I continued tutoring after starting my first job, assisting the daughter of one of my coworkers who was struggling in 8th grade math. I have a BS in Elementary Education with a GPA of 3.86 and a MS in Special Education with a GPA of 3.93. I value education and I have had a lot of experience with it. During graduate school I completed two six-month internships working full time in the classroom. I have spent the past three years as a substitute teacher in local schools. I was hired by a school district for two two-month long-term substitute positions. I was also hired as a private tutor for two students who were suspended from school.
