15 years experience in a broad variety of subjects!

I have been tutoring for over 15 years both in students homes or at public locations such as coffee shops or the public library. My education and experience are broad. I was educated at "Ivy League" level schools and purposefully educated myself in a large variety of the humanities, which in essence all tie together. Basic courses up through most High School material outside of the Humanities are not difficult. Actually, while my education has been primarily in the Humanities, the material I see the most in tutoring is Algebra and Geometry!
I have a way of perceiving the difficulty the student has, and am able to explain the material in a simple way that makes it easy for students to grasp. I would describe my teaching style as "facilitator" considering the fact that I am able to come up with questions that lead the students to finding the correct process and answers on their own.
During high school I tutored at an elementary school during two summers for over 300 hours. From January-April 2013 I tutored the AVID program for 17.5 hours a week for all grade levels. From these experiences, I have learned how to encourage and instruct a variety of personalities and skill levels.
