Committed To Helping You Achieve!

I taught in two public high schools in Orange and Osceola Counties in the Central Florida area for 5 years where I earned the Professional Educators Certificate to teach mathematics 6 - 12. For the past 10 years, I have been teaching at a Huntington Learning Center while privately tutoring students from the area middle, high school, and community colleges.
My teaching style adapts to the students current level of knowledge. I always model 2 or 3 problems step by step before asking the student to try a problem. A student is comfortable knowing that I have "their backs" and won't let them be frustrated for long. This gives a student confidence to try problems on their own.

I got the tools you need to succeed !

I am currently a college sophomore at Florida Institute of Technology studying Computer Engineering so I know the problems a high school or school or college student would face in studies. Therefore, I will be able to communicate with m y students better and help them excel in studies and eliminate their weak points in any subject. I have no teaching style since I believe that to succeed one needs to seriously study and teach and cover your weakest subjects first.
I have taught high school students for five years now. However, I have taught college freshman for a year only. But, I do know what I am doing and I know how to help students. I am patient with everyone so I can communicate better and understand my students problems so, I have always succeeded in helping my students.

More About This Tutor...

The most important part of teaching is to teach students the principle or concept behind a subject. I do not believe in making students memorize absurdly large lists of facts in order to pass a test. Learning should be more fundamental than that. When a student has been successfully taught something, the student should be able to solve an array of problems with a common theme.
At college I worked as a tutor for two years in the areas of chemistry and mathematics. I earned BA's in chemistry and biochemistry and have some laboratory experience. Having been educated at a liberal arts school has also given me the opportunity to study philosophy and sociology. I also write well, as writing is emphasized in all disciplines of study at Knox. Previous to my college education, I was also active in my tutoring program in high school.

I am young and energetic with the ability to engage students. I have been told on numerous occasions that I make previously difficult subjects accessible to those that thought that it was not "their thing". I believe that all students have their own method of learning, and their success is dependent on how well an educator can adapt to their style. I am very flexible a ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I have always had a passion for math and for helping others. While I was in college I was a math tutor for students struggling in remedial math (subject before college algebra) for a whole year. Also, I tutored middle school students in geometry and algebra. I have also babysat small children and helped them daily with their homework. In July of 2010 I received my BA in Mathematics and I am now working on my MA in Teaching. I hope to become a math teacher in the future and be able to help all the students that come my way. I believe math to be a challenging subject, but I also believe that with care, patience and understanding I can teach any student to learn it and even become to love it!
