Set Realistic Goals and Rewards Create realistic, individual goals for all of your students. It's nice to have a classroom goal so students feel like they are working together, encouraging one another. However, it's more important to give each student an attainable goal that's personalized for their educational needs, such as completing homework assignments on time or checking over an assignment before they turn it in. Providing students with a personalized, attainable goals makes them feel like they can succeed and doesn't overwhelm them. Discuss with students the rewards for achieving their goals. I learned how to play chess about twenty years ago, it's been rather on and off since then. I've steadily improved and tried so many different ways to improve before finding the right method for myself that I'm confident in my many approaches to teaching. As far as other subjects, I graduated high school with honors back in 2003 with a 3.8 GPA, and scored a composite 30 on the ACT. I was awarded the Presidential Scholarship from Baldwin-Wallace, went there for a year, didn't like the school at all (should have researched it more...)
