With more than nine years of business experience in both Finance and Operations management and five years as a homemaker raising my four children, I have a very diverse level of experience which I will provide as a tutor. I have developed a complete battery of skills in English, Business, Mathematics and Social Sciences. Currently emerging from several years of medical disability, I have a lot to offer as I begin my return to the workforce. Tutoring is the next step on my journey. A Little Bit About Me...

I thoroughly enjoy working with students, and provide fun yet focused tutoring. I hold a Masters degree in Linguistics, and have teaching experience for students of all ages, in various settings, including as a substitute teacher in public schools, a full-time teacher of ESL at the University of Iowa, an adjunct ESL teacher at Northern Virginia Community College, and ESL/SAT tutor with a private company. I most often teach English, Communications, and Writing skills to students. I am friendly and make students feel very comfortable, and am great at getting them motivated.
I first like to understand the student's learning style, as we all have different methods of learning. Some are visual, others do better with reading a text, or using examples. I have always had a strong appreciation for education and learning new things. My educational experience was strengthened when I attended Cornell College, which has a strong liberal arts program. I immediately took an interest in the sciences and pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Pre-medicine. My education was additionally complimented when I immersed myself in several language, mathematic, English, and humanity courses, which gave me a strong diversity in the liberal arts curriculum. Due to the smaller class sizes at Cornell, most of the exams were given in essay form, which strengthened my writing skills immensely.
