For Science and Math I employ an inquiry-based method of teaching/exploration. This allows for more meaningful learning and gives the student the opportunity to learn on his or her own before being given instruction by the teacher. This method is aligned with the STEM initiative in the United States. For Language Arts, reading, and Spanish, I teach by individualizing instruction to each child, allowing for meaning-making and communication rather than simply rote learning of facts and vocabulary. UNR Grad and Experienced University Tutor working toward CPA

Honestly, not sure how to answer this. I think the entire benefit of working with a private tutor is that the tutor is able to change and adapt to complement the student. I wouldn't think to walk into a room and presume to know where the student is struggling or how best to help him. What I do consistently is to focus on basics and use colors, organization and logic to solve problems. Too often, people memorize the steps without understanding where they come from, this leaves them high and dry if theres any chance of test anxiety or a "curveball" question.

The skills you use to teach yourself the material can be directly applied to someone else, especially when you find something does not click at first. My comments on tutoring Algebra : I was an excellerated student throughout all of my mathematics career, with a 3.5 GPA sustained in all of my math classes.

Throughout my academic career, I have done in-class tutoring in exchange for credit. I have also helped my family members, neighbors, and friends to study, complete homework, and even do reports. My range of subjects is very versatile, anything from Oceanography, to Intercultural Communications, to Culinary Arts, and even 3D sculpture and design.
