A Little Bit About Me...

When working with children, I try my best to be engaging, interactive, and fun. If necessary, I'll use props (e.g. building blocks) to help illustrate concepts, and I always try to ask many questions along the way to make sure my explanations are clear. With older students I will use a slightly more textbook approach, but keeping lessons interactive still remains essential, and props may still be useful in some circumstances. In both situations, I try to find which learning styles work best for the student and present lessons based on those. Each person has a unique way of learning, and if a teacher takes the time to understand it, then the student's true potential can be reached.

I believe that every person has a specific set of gifts, talents and abilities that is unique to each of us. Education, through its varied forms, is vital in the process of equipping children with the ability to grow and walk in their fullness so that they are confident in contributing their part to the world. With this belief, teaching must start with the person and then move to the content. I very much enjoy the process of teaching and learning with others. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always loved to teach children because it excites me to see them really grasp a concept, and overcome a hurdle they thought was beyond their reach. Each child has so much potential-far greater than any of us give them credit for when we first meet them! I love to tap into the unique learning styles of each child, and really draw on what motivates him/her and makes him/her excited to learn.
