I worked as a language arets and Spanish teacher for one year for Detroit Public Schools. Additionally, I tutored students in Spanish and worked for Berlitz and TechWorld as a Spanish language instructor. My goal is to help students relize that they can learn. I want for students to make connections between what interests them and learning. I don't thik every student learns the same way but I do believe that every student can learn you just have to find that fire inside them and light it. I earned a Bachelors degree in English from Western Michigan University in 19997. I taught at the middle school and high school levels. My experience in the classroom has prepared me for other tasks such as tutoring outside the classroom. During my years of teaching I did provide tutoring services for students through the Urban League Organization. For as long as I can remember, I have loved working with children. I believe that every child is capable of learning when given the necessary tools and encouragement needed. I left the classroom in 2006; however, I do not want to completely give up teaching and for this reason, I think that tutoring is a great match for me.
